Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Burmese army accelerated assaults on Rohingya civilians in northern Arakanincluding Maungdaw and Rathedaung Townships-- since yesterday in the pretext of searching Rohingya militants after the attacks of three BGP camps on October 9 by unknown Rohingya insurgent group, a businessman named Shobbir from Maundaw Town said.

Yesterday, since around 9:00 AM, Burmese army and BGP( Border Guard Police)  have been surrounding  KoeTan Kauk (Don Say) village and over one thousand  Rohingya villagers have been under the hostage of army. Of them, 4 youths were severely tortured and were removed to Inn Din BGP camp yesterday, where they declared two of them---Salim Ullah (40), son of Mohamed Sharif and Mohamed Nabi (42), son of Nabi Hussain as Rohingya  militants through Burmese media to justify their brutality against the innocent Rohingya villagers. However, in the evening, women are allowed to go home and the male villagers are detained in the school, so far, said Rakib Hassan from the village. 
 
Today, again, at around 7:00AM, hundreds of Burmese armies have surrounded Padin, Boddil,  Gojzon Dia  and Du NNyaung Pyin Gyi( Shaira Para)villages in Maungdaw south, and searched the villagers discriminately, according to villagers.
 
In addition, at about 10:30 AM, Burmese soldiers have raided another village named Thawan Chaung (Bossara), in Maungdaw south and arrested some villagers, a village elder said who did not mention his name.
On the other hand, Burmese military and Border Guard Police of Burma (BGP) raided Naya Para of Myient Hlut village tract and severally tortured the innocent villagers and shot dead two villagers--- Rahamat Ullah (45), son of Eliyas and another one was also shot dead, but Rahamat Ullah’s son Mohamed Shohid was also beaten up with the bud of guns because of crying of his father’s death, so he is in critical condition, Mohin said from the locality.
 
Mostly villagers ran away from the village for fear of arrest and torture and  the remaining old men and women were severally beaten up. The village was surrounded by army at around 3:00 am, he more added. 
 
Besides, more than 30 military went to Zurforza village of Aley Than Kyaw village tract this morning, at around 9:00 am. But, seeing the military, the villagers ran away from the village, a village youth said on condition of anonymity.
