Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Burmese border security force (Nasaka) in the wee hours of yesterday arrested two Rohingya for repairing the inside of a mosque, said a village elder.

London, UK: An ‘Evening with Rohingya People’ was an event organized by the London based Burmese Rohingya community with the help of the Burma Campaign UK to share the dilemma of the Rohingya and discuss other Burmese multi-ethnic conflict topics on August 27, at 28 Charles Square London, said Tun Khin, the president of Burmese Rohingya Organization UK (BROUK).

Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh: On August 24, after languishing in Andaman jail for about eight months, 175 boat-people were handed over to Bangladesh Red Crescent under the supervision of Bangladesh Rifles at the Benapole-Petrapole border at around 9 am, who were rescued from the deadly sea route near the Andaman Islands, said Moniur  (23), one of those who returned.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Three Rohingya women blocked personnel of Nasaka led by an officer from entering their home without a search warrant on August 18, said a local elder from  Maungnee village of Maungdaw.

Teknaf, Bangladesh: A Burmese refugee was kidnapped by unknown miscreants on August 21, while he was going to Nila market, near the refugee camp to buy medicines for his sick son, said his father.
