Teknaf, Bangladesh: Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) arrested two Burmese nationals from Bangladesh border on April 16, Kamal, a local from border said.

“They were arrested from Gumdum area on suspension by BGB while they were wandering along the border and entering without legal documents.”

The arrestees have been identified as U Ba Soe (40) and Aung Tin (38) of Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, Burma.

They gave statement that they came to Bangladesh to find out job for their survival. But, BGB has kept them in the custody, Mohamed Ali, a BGB officer from Taungbro out-post said.

However, BGB sent a letter to Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) regarding the matter yesterday evening, but it has been not replied by Nasaka, sources said.

Besides, BGB arrested eight Rohingyas from Whykong check-post yesterday morning and pushed back again to Burma at noon through the point of Unsipran under Teknaf police station.
