Teknaf, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested thirty-seven Rohingya along the border and pushed back them to Burma on May 16, said a local village member from Teknaf.

“The BGB arrested the Rohingya while they were entering Bangladesh through the illegal point of Sabran union of Teknaf police station.”

“The arrested are hailed from Maungdaw townships.”

The operation was led by Company Commander Abul Kalam of Teknaf Battalion 42, according to official sources. “BGB pushed back them to Burma through Noyapara entry point.”

On the other hand, BGB arrested 15 Rohingya from Whykong check-post while they were going to Cox’s Bazar from Teknaf the same day, official said.

“Of them, BGB arrested 11 male, 3 women including a child during the raided. They were also pushed back to Burma through the whykong after being arrested.”
