Maungdaw, Burma: NGOs, operating in Arakan State, held a routine meeting to discuss their work at the UNHCR office of Maungdaw town, Arakan State on September14.

 

NGOs working in Maungdaw, Buthidaung and Rathedaung townships in Arakan were invited to attend the meeting. NGOs from Rangoon, representatives of UNHCR and AZO, an NGO, working in Akyab for medicines, and delegates from Bangladesh were also invited. Field workers from villages also participated.

 

At the meeting, they discussed in particulars about development and future programmes. Besides, the heads of the departments examined the previous projects and programmes in depth.

 

The meeting began at 10. a.m. and concluded at 3 p.m.
