Maungdaw, Arakan State: The construction of barbed wire fencing on the Burma- Bangladesh border has led to extortion from the Rohingya community. The junta declared that the construction of the fence was to stop smuggling and human trafficking, said a local elder.

Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazaar: Refugee teachers of Kutupalong registered Burmese refugee camp went on strike yesterday in the camp for not getting bonus for the Eid Festival from an NGO, the Research Training and Management (RTM) international, said a refugee teacher from the Kutupalong camp.
