Maungdaw, Arakan State: Border Guard Police (BGP) of Burma/ Myanmar arrested mother and daughter over the allegation that they were not in the family list on August 18, Mohin from Maungdaw said.

The arrestees were identified as---- Ms Rohima Khatun (43), wife of Alam and her daughter, hailed from Khonzabill village under the Aley Than Kyaw village tract of Maungdaw township, he more added.
 
A group of BGP personnel from Aley Than Kyaw BGP camp went to Khonzabill village and checked Alam’s family list and found that Ms Rohima and her daughter were canceled from the family list, Kayum, another villager said.
 
After arrest, they were brought to Aley Than Kyaw BGP camp and then they were sent to Maungdaw detention center for further investigations the same day, according to order of higher concerned authority, Kayum further said.
 
A team from the concerned authorities went to the said village and checked family lists while clashing between Rakhine and Rohingya in 2012. During that time, they (mother and daughter) were not found at home and canceled from the family list by the authority. But, they were living in another village due to security of their life, according to villagers.
 
The villagers also said that many villagers were canceled from the family lists at that time as they left the village for the harassment of police and army. The villagers including women and children who fled from the village due to clashes in 2012 will face many problems in future. The concerned authorities will harass and arrest them because of not listed in the family list.
