Teknaf, Bangladesh: A Rohingya girl was raped by two Bengali rickshaw pullers at about 7:00 pm, on May 7, when she was going to Dum Dum Meah makeshift camp (Tal) to visit her elder brother after crossing the Burma-Bangladesh border, said a Maje ( shed leader) of the camp. |

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Nasaka , Burma 's border security force, Headquarters in Gyikan Pyin (Kawarbill) in Maungdaw Township donated money to four Madrasas in Maungdaw north yesterday to cast the "yes" vote in the forthcoming constitutional referendum, said a local leader who declined to be named. |

SPDC Should Postpone it Sham Referendum We express our deep concern that cyclone Nargis is an unprecedented disaster that had left hundreds of thousands of Burmese people dead, homeless and missing. Due to lack of press freedom, the extent of sufferings in terms of human and material losses could not be ascertained yet. However, at least 100,000 people are confirmed to be dead while 45,000 missing. It affected nearly 50% of the Burma’s 55 million population. Irrawaddy region is the worst hit area. |

Maungdaw: A cyclone, heavy rain and wind lashed northern Arakan, destroying roads, telecommunication poles, uprooted trees and damaged houses on May 5, at about 11:00 pm, said a Village Peace and Development Council, or VPDC Chairman of Maungdaw. |
